Cosmich is pleased to announce that George Irwin has joined the firm as a partner in its California office, further strengthening the firm’s presence on the West Coast and expanding its capabilities in complex litigation.
Irwin focuses his practice on complex products liability litigation, real estate disputes, chemical and toxic exposure matters, and business tort actions. He brings extensive experience defending manufacturers and suppliers in personal injury and toxic exposure cases, including claims arising from both premises liability and alleged product defects. His work frequently involves highly technical issues such as cancer and disease causation, genetics, industrial hygiene, and epidemiological and toxicological analysis.
“George’s depth of experience in toxic tort and complex litigation makes him a strong addition to our team,” said equity partner Clif Jefferis. “As we continue to grow our presence in California and across the country, his experience will be an asset to both our clients and our firm.”
Irwin has handled a wide range of toxic exposure matters, including cases involving benzene, asbestos, and talc, and is well-versed in navigating the scientific and medical issues at the center of these claims.
“I’m excited to join Cosmich and collaborate with such a strong national team,” said Irwin. “The firm’s reputation in complex litigation and its commitment to client service make this a great fit.”
Irwin earned his J.D. from Seattle University School of Law and his B.S. from the University of California, Los Angeles. He is admitted to practice in California, as well as before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Central Districts of California, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
