Cosmich Simmons & Brown, PLLC is pleased to announce that Molly Sue Harmon has joined the firm as an Associate Attorney in our Columbia, South Carolina office. Her addition reflects the firm’s continued growth in the region and dedication to building a dynamic, talented team in Columbia.
Molly Sue’s practice focuses on complex toxic tort litigation, including asbestos and talc cases, as well as matters involving premises and product liability. She represents clients across diverse industries, from manufacturing to services and industrial operations. She comes from a diverse legal background, with prior experience defending Fortune 500 companies in Workers’ Compensation cases.
Before entering private practice, Molly Sue clerked for The Honorable R. Kirk Griffin on the South Carolina Circuit Court. She is a graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Law (J.D., cum laude, 2022) and Catawba College (B.A., magna cum laude, 2018). During law school, she was active in the Mock Trial Bar, served on Honor Council, and participated in the Konduros Leadership Development Program.
Molly Sue has earned numerous distinctions, including recognition among Columbia Business Monthly’s Legal Elite of the Midlands (2025) and receipt of both the Robert McCormick Figg, Jr. Trial Advocacy Award and The Hon. Lewis F. Powell Medal for Excellence in Advocacy.
An active member of the South Carolina Bar, the South Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys’ Association, and the Richland County Bar Association, Molly Sue also serves as a Mock Trial Team Coach at the University of South Carolina School of Law and sits on the Catawba College Alumni Board of Directors.
Outside the office, she enjoys reading, needlepointing, and spending time with her dog, Ivy.
