Over the years, Cosmich has experienced remarkable growth in both its practice and its geographic presence. To facilitate future progress, Cosmich actively seeks qualified, dedicated attorneys to join our team via lateral hiring opportunities. Cosmich is committed to building an attorney workforce comprised of passionate, skilled advocates with an earnest dedication to efficient, knowledgeable client representation. Further, Cosmich is continuously seeking pathways to enhance the firm’s current practice areas and expand service offerings by recruiting lawyers with diverse backgrounds and perspectives. The hiring of lateral attorneys is contingent upon the needs of the firm and its clients, and the compatibility of those needs with a particular candidate’s experience and expertise.

Cosmich also welcomes entry-level attorney applicants after the successful completion of an accredited law school program and subject to state bar admission.

Summer Associate Program

Our Summer Associate Program serves as the primary platform for identifying qualified law student candidates for future employment as junior associate attorneys at Cosmich. It is goal of the Program to recruit, hire, and retain talented, diverse individuals whose contribution to Cosmich will enhance both the success and long-term growth of the firm. As Cosmich continues to invest in its professional legacy, the hiring and retention of promising associates is critical to both client succession and firm longevity.

The Program is thoughtfully designed to provide the selected summer associates with a realistic experience of daily associate practice at Cosmich, as well as offer meaningful exposure to the firm’s distinct practice areas and collaborative culture. Throughout the Program, summer associates work closely with attorneys, allowing the Cosmich team to evaluate the work ethic, legal skills, enthusiasm, professionalism, and judgment of the summer associates. This hands-on experience benefits both the firm and the summer associate in determining long-term fit and placement.

Cosmich strives to provide a balanced, comprehensive Program experience by incorporating summer-associate assistance in a broad range of litigation tasks and practice groups. Typical assignments include conducting legal research, preparing drafts of legal documents, observing hearings and depositions, synthesizing witness testimony, identifying complex legal theories and issues, participating in strategic conference calls, and assisting with discovery and trial-related matters. Each summer associate is assigned a dedicated attorney mentor to offer ongoing guidance and constructive feedback throughout the Program.

Cosmich typically conducts on-campus interviews at select regional law schools for both first-(1L) and second year (2L) law students and administers student resume drops with career services personnel at various law schools. However, applications from qualified candidates are both encouraged and accepted on a nationwide basis. Interested candidates at law schools at which on-campus interviews are not conducted by Cosmich must submit their application materials via email, or pursuant to the method set forth by Cosmich in the law school’s employment platform, if applicable.

The deadlines for submission are as follows: 1L candidates must submit by February 15; and 2L candidates by September 15.
