Biography
Vanthara (Van) Meak is a proficient trial attorney and partner in the California Office of Cosmich, Simmons & Brown. Mr. Meak’s focuses on the defense of asbestos matters on behalf of local manufacturers, sellers and premises owners, as well as multi-national manufacturers of equipment and consumer goods. Van’s extensive experience in the defense of these cases includes acting as National Coordinating Counsel.
Born in Cambodia, Mr. Meak grew up in Missouri, earning both his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Missouri. He began his legal career as an attorney for one of the nation’s largest transportation companies, Unigroup, Inc., and served as an Assistant Attorney General for the Missouri Attorney General’s Office.
A member of the San Mateo County Bar Association and the California and Missouri State Bars, Van is admitted to practice in all California courts, including the United States District Court for the Northern, Central and Southern Districts. He resides with his family in the San Francisco Bay Area.
